GUEST DESIGNER CALL

AT IN STYLE STAMPS

I just finished my entry for the guest desinger contest for In Style Stamps.

I just tried my first digital download from ISS and had a lot of fun with it. I don't have copic markers yet, so I had to try my best with my Bics and my Design 2 art markers. I used a pretty daisy ribbon that I had bought for Easter cards.

Of course Yuki has Star Dust Stickles on her shoes and belt, because I use Star Dust Stickles on just about every thing I do. I'm a sucker for sparkly stuff.

I scanned the card the best I could, but it doesn't look good with the white background. I'm not quite sure how to do it better. I also took a picture with my camera. Neither one is a great photo, but hopefully it represents the card well enough.

I'm proud of the card. I think her wink is really cute and I loved putting Gracias on there instead of Thanks. I can't remember the last time I gave anyone a Thank You card, so maybe this will be the start of a good trend for me. This card is going to Abby and Don Valentino. They recently were here for my husband and I in a time of need. They are good friends and I want them to know we appreciate them.

To apply for the guest design team spot,
1. Make a project based on the sketch above. It should be created for a person that you are thankful for. It doesn’t have to use the words “Thank You”, but it can if you like.
2. You do not have to use an ISS image. However, if you’ve got one, you might as well flaunt it! LOL!
3. Post your project on your personal blog and write about the guest designer call. Then come back here and leave a link to your blog post in the comment section under this post. Please include your email address so we are able to get in contact with you if you are selected.
4. All entries must be received by 11:59pm PST on Wednesday, March 25th.
5. We will be contacting the winner via email by Sunday, March 29th, and will announce the guest designer for April and May here on the blog on April 1st.

Easter Cards

I started making Easter Cards. I could only find some small stamps at the stores. I did my best. I tried out embossing for the first time. I'm still a bit messy, but hopefully they look ok.

Ok, now I just have to figure out how I put the pictures in here. Aha - Add Image button.

Saturday with Abbie

Today was Abbie day at our house. We went to Build a Bear and she built a pretty little moose with a pink dress and shoes. It even got striped underwear!

We ate at Wendy's and later sent Jim out to get frostys. We played Bingo and then Jim and Abbie played Connect Four.

I spent the day on Tools to Life, played with my Cricut and signed up for scrapbooking magazines.

I'm trying to figure out the best adhesives to use on letters that the Cricuit cuts out. I'm gonna search a little more tonight to see if I can find the answers.

The Day after Christmas

I just saw the coolest blog page ever. I was inspired by the style and the detail. I want to be a great scrapper so I'm going to try and build myself a network of experts that I can learn from and with whom I can socialize.

I've already been sitting for hours at this desk tonight, so my back is hurting, but I was so excited to use my new cricut that I've been scanning the web for the lowest prices on cartridges. I have to find some people that already use the cricut so I can get advice on the best ones to buy and where to get the best prices.

Well, I can't wait to see what this will look like and what I can do with it, so I'm going to end it already. Blog 1 over and out.
